چکیده

We report a detailed modelling of soft X-ray emission lines from two stellar-wind fed Galactic high mass binary (HMXB) systems, Cyg X-3 and 4U 1538-522, estimate physical parameters, e.g., hydrogen density, radiation field, chemical abundances, wind velocity, etc. The spectral synthesis code CLOUDY is utilized for this modelling. model highly ionised such as Fe XXV (6.700 keV), XXVI (6.966 reproduce the observed line flux values. find that X--3 inner radius gas at distance 10$^{12.25}$ cm 10$^{10.43}$ respectively primary star, which main source ionisation. densities 1538--522 are found to be $\sim$ 10$^{11.35}$ cm$^{-3}$ 10$^{11.99}$ cm$^{-3}$, respectively. corresponding velocities 2000 km s$^{-1}$ 1500 s$^{-1}$. respective predicted column $10^{23.2}$ cm$^{-2}$ 10$^{22.25}$ cm$^{-2}$. In addition, we magnetic field affects strength through cyclotron cooling. Hence, perform separate comparisons including both sources. Most except have similar values with without field. most probable 1538--522, where originate, 10$^{2.5}$G.

Hard X-Ray Lightcurves of High Mass X-Ray Binaries

Using the 9 years of continuous data now available from the Burst And Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) aboard CGRO, we have measured orbital periods and produced folded lightcurves for 8 High Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXB). Given the length of the datasets, our determinations are based on many more binary orbits than previous investigations. Thus our source detections have high statistical signi...

Forty Years of X-Ray Binaries

In 2012 it was forty years ago that the discovery of the first X-ray binary Centaurus X-3 became known. That same year it was discovered that apart from the High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs) there are also Low-Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXBs), and that Cygnus X-1 is most probably a black hole. By 1975 also the new class of Be/X-ray binaries was discovered. After this it took 28 years before ESAs INTE...

INTEGRAL and New Classes of High-Mass X-Ray Binaries

The gamma-ray observatory INTEGRAL, launched in October 2002, produces a wealth of discoveries and new results on compact high energy Galactic objects, nuclear gammaray line emission, diffuse line and continuum emission, cosmic background radiation, AGN and high energy transients. Two important serendipitous discoveries made by the INTEGRAL mission are new classes of X-ray binaries, namely the ...

High-mass X-ray Binaries and Ob- Runaway Stars

High-mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs) represent an important phase in the evolution of massive binary systems. HMXBs provide unique diagnostics to test massive-star evolution, to probe the physics of radiationdriven winds, to study the process of mass accretion, and to measure fundamental parameters of compact objects. As a consequence of the supernova explosion that produced the neutron star (or bl...

Formation of High Mass X-ray Black Hole Binaries

We discuss the progenitor evolution of high mass black hole binaries with black hole of mass ∼ > 10M⊙, like Cyg X-1. From the observed large space velocity of Cyg X-1, which we interpret as coming from a Blaauw-Boersma kick, we find that the helium envelope of the black hole progenitor must have been at least 16M⊙. Using new and improved wind mass loss rates for Wolf-Rayet stars, we are unable ...
